Ukigami Memo Pad (2.5 mm Grid)
Unlike most notebooks, the Ukigami Memo Pad lays complete 180 degree flat when opened, making sketching, designing, or note-taking effortless and enjoyable.
This “flat-opening” book binding is an original patented technology of Nakamura Printing Company, founded in Tokyo in 1938.
After hundreds of prototypes, veteran craftsmen finally perfected Memo Pad that meets the needs of artists, designers, and engineers around the world.
The 2.5 mm grid makes it easy to write small letters, and since 4 squares equals 1 cm, it is also easy to perform calculations, making it convenient for planning, sketching, and drawing.
The pale light gray lines on white paper prevent fatigue of the eyes and do not interfere with the colors on the paper.
The cover is made from embossed Echizen washi paper called Ukigami with a sewing pin motif. Inner pages are made of a smooth paper with a 2.5 mm grid excellent for sketching and design work, as scaling can be easily calculated. Light gray grid lines on the off-white paper help prevent eye fatigue and do not interfere with color placement.

Handling Precautions
- As each piece of Ukigami is made by hand, there may be some unevenness in the patterns and colors, but please enjoy the texture.
- Water damage can cause the washi paper to come off.
- The surface is pigmented and the color may migrate to other objects when rubbed.
- Do not expose the product to direct sunlight, high temperatures, or high humidity.
- The rubber band may stretch over time and with use.
- Keep out of reach of infants.
Mini Colored Pencils in Ukigami Box

Pencils are manufactured by Camel Pencil Mfg., one of the oldest and most respected pencil manufacturers in Japan, having been founded in 1939 in Tokyo’s Arakawa Ward.
Highly pigmented and comfortable in the hand, pencils come in Cohana’s signature five colors plus black. A matching color thread is wound on the end of each pencil.
The wooden shaft, which gently fits in your hand, is wrapped with a thread of the same color as the lead. It is designed to make handcrafting and sketching fun.
