The wooden box is made of cherry wood and was elaborately crafted by artisans of Daiwa Sangyo Co. Ltd. Originally, the company manufactured wooden medicine boxes for local pharmacies, but it has adapted its traditional techniques into crafting high-quality modern wooden products.<\/p>\n

A flower-shaped button adorns the clasp. It is crafted from the shell of the black-lip pearl oyster, which has a glossy luster. Kawanishi Town in Nara Prefecture is the largest producer of shell buttons in Japan. TOMOI Co., LTD. was established in this area in 1913.
